Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has lauded Asante Kotoko’s spirited display in their recent President’s Cup win and charged the team to carry that same energy into their CAF Confederation Cup journey.

The Porcupine Warriors pulled off a thrilling 2-1 comeback win over fierce rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium—an effort Adams believes proves their readiness for continental glory.

“You showed real character today,” the Minister said in his address to the team. “If you take this fighting spirit into Africa, no team can stop you.”

He encouraged the players to remain confident and fearless as they head into international competition.

Kotoko earned their place in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-1 MTN FA Cup final win over Golden Kick FC. With warm-up matches in the Toyota Cup against Kaizer Chiefs and the GHALCA Top 4, the team is gearing up for a strong campaign, looking to surpass their 2004 runner-up finish.
