- Bullion van allegedly veered into oncoming lane, causing head-on collision
- Two survivors in critical condition; both vehicles completely wrecked
A fatal accident at Adanwomaso in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region has left three people dead, including two police officers, and two others battling for their lives in critical condition.
The horrifying crash occurred when a bullion van, reportedly speeding, veered off its lane and collided head-on with a Kia truck loaded with cement. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were mangled beyond recognition.

Among the five occupants of the bullion van—four of whom were victims—only the driver survived, though he sustained serious injuries. The Kia truck driver also suffered critical injuries.
An eyewitness, Efo Mawusi, recounted the incident, stating that the bullion van crossed into the Kia truck’s lane, leading to the deadly collision. “The van driver and the Kia driver are both seriously hurt,” he added.

This marks the first major accident reported on the Bonwire–Adanwomaso road stretch since its reconstruction, raising concerns about speeding and road safety enforcement.
