On Sunday, July 27, 2025, Sompa Mensah Medical Center organized a free health screening at the Calvary Charismatic Centre in Kumasi.

The initiative was part of the “ARISE Concert 2025,” a gospel event that also marked the launch of Minister OJ’s new single, Adom Ahyasie.

The medical team from Sompa Mensah Medical Center conducted screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes, hepatitis, eye conditions, and other common health issues.

Speaking to the media, Mary Mensah, General Manager of the center, emphasized that the exercise aligned perfectly with the theme of the concert. “You can’t truly arise without good health,” she noted.

She encouraged Ghanaians to prioritize regular health checkups with the same enthusiasm they show for entertainment events.

She also called on event organizers to follow the example set by OJ Ministry by incorporating free health screenings into their programs. According to Madam Mary, early detection of health issues can lead to timely treatment and help avoid emergency situations.

Dr. Ebenezer Boye, Clinical Director of the facility, expressed concern over the low rate of health checkups among Africans. He highlighted the link between public health and national productivity.

“Regular medical checkups are essential because they help uncover hidden health issues,” he said. “Don’t wait until you’re sick before seeing a doctor.”
